May 14, 2009 - Waterloo MIN's Executive Director Terry Reidel Awards Prizes to Local Manufacturers
May 14, 2009 - (Kitchener, ON) - The Waterloo Manufacturing Innovation Network (www.waterloomin.com) today announced the winners of its membership contest. Held from January to April and publicized on 570 News across the Waterloo Region, contest prizes included a Canadian Escape for 2 sponsored by Goliger's TravelPlus. As part of its membership drive, the contest was made available to the first 500 members to join the Manufacturing Innovation Network.
Terry Reidel, the Executive Director of the MIN, was on location at Goliger's TravelPlus to award prizes to each winner. Mike Calabrese, Manufacturing Engineer/Maintenance Supervisor for Von Weise of Canada won the grand prize of a Canadian Getaway for 2. Other prize winners include Kevin Van Der Zwagg, Managing Partner of Van Der Zwaag Moulds & Dies and Brenda Mortimer, President of Central Plastics.

President and owner of Goliger's TravelPlus, Peter VanDerHeyden was also on hand to recognize prize-winners, along with employees of IGLOO Software, the online community and social networking software platform that powers the MIN.
Launched in January of 2009 as a pilot or "proof of concept," the MIN is an online community that connects over 1,000 manufacturers, partners, government agencies, academic institutions and other stakeholder groups.
