Leading Edge Forum Aims to Define Canada's Digital Future in True Collaborative Fashion
May 7, 2010 (Kitchener, ON) - - IGLOO Software (www.igloosoftware.com), a leading provider of online community and social software solutions for business, has partnered with the Canadian Digital Media Network (CDMN) and the University of Waterloo's Stratford Institute to manage the Web-based conversations around the Canada 3.0 forum, in a much more open, interactive and collaborative fashion.
The Canada 3.0 forum will be held at the Rotary Complex on May 10 and 11 in Stratford, Ontario. This annual event brings together experts from academia, industry and government to discuss the key issues required to propel Canada to a leadership position in the global digital media sector. The conference includes breakout sessions and keynote presentations from such digital luminaries as Tony Chapman, CEO, Capital C; Tom Jenkins, Chair, CDMN Advisory Board & Executive Chairman and Chief Strategy Officer, Open Text; and Duncan Stewart, Director of Deloitte Canada Research in the areas of Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT), Life Sciences and GreenTech.
The conference website, developed by IGLOO Software, provides a central repository for collecting and sharing the information, discussion, and outcomes of this collaborative event. Members can use the community to create business connections and message other attendees; participate in blogs and forums, download content and receive notifications of upcoming events; and even comment and rate keynote and expert presentations.
"I think we all forget how much the internet has changed our lives, both from a social and business perspective. It's changing the way we work and the way we live," said Dan Latendre, CEO of IGLOO Software. "Conferences like Canada 3.0 give us a tremendous opportunity to help shape Canada's role and future in the digital media sector. And it's only fitting that Canada's premier digital media forum includes both an offline and online presence."
2010 marks the second year of the forum and the second year that IGLOO has worked with the Canada 3.0 team to provide an interactive community solution for the event. The online community supports collaboration, social networking and information sharing long before the event begins and long after it ends.
"With the conference just around the corner, we wanted to implement a fresh new look for the online conference community. Even with such tight deadlines, IGLOO Software took on the challenge and completed the new design over the weekend - now that is service," said Jodi Szimanski, Marketing Manager at the University of Waterloo - Stratford Campus.
