By delivering stories, news and research in French, the Suzuki Foundation is able to expand its membership base and share its mission with all of Canada. The new community will make use of online forums and blogs to connect with supporters and reach out to raise awareness about environment protection.
The Ontario Research and Innovation Optical Network (ORION)
The Ontario Research and Innovation Optical Network (ORION) is working with IGLOO to launch "O3", a new online collaboration service provided as a value-added resource to members of ORION's advanced network community. Over 80 research and education institutions and organizations currently connect to ORION, which serves 1.3 million students and over 75,000 research, scientists and faculty throughout Ontario. O3 was conceived and designed by and for Ontario's research and education community, as a unique, web-based service where researchers and other users can find and share knowledge within ORION's shared advanced network infrastructure, collaborate on projects across member institutions and beyond, and find solutions to problems, whether in the form of tools or people who can help through professional networking. The service will be launched in Spring and Fall of 2009.
The BlackBerry Partners Fund TM
The BlackBerry Partners Fund TM is using an IGLOO online community to power its website and bring together its investment committee to collaborate securely on funding applications and competitions. The Fund has just re-launched its community, originally developed to create a publicly accessible website to promote the fund globally to potential partners building applications for the world leading BlackBerry® device developed by RIM. The investment committee uses private portions of the community to coordinate, manage and collaborate on potential partner funding applications and competitions.
PolicyNet is a network of global researchers, students and academic institutions focused on public policy. With members from a variety of disciplines at public policy schools worldwide, PolicyNet allows students, scholars, and institutions to connect and collaborate with their peers around the world through a dynamic online community.
Positioned as providing "collaboration-enabled value," CIO Gateway is a community targeted at CIO's. The site delivers information pertinent to executives, including blogs and feature articles, and the opportunity for members to network with peers to share their experience, expertise, technology insights and best practices.
Mayor of Waterloo
The Mayor's Community has been developed to open up an ongoing dialogue between Mayor of Waterloo Brenda Halloran and her constituents. The IGLOO community provides an online forum where the Mayor can connect and interact with her constituents to discuss pressing issues, share council information, present the latest regional news, highlight upcoming events and book the Mayor's time for an onsite visit.
