Digital Workplace Conference, ICE’17, Wraps Up On A High Note

Igloo Announces New Digital Workplace Playbook and Major Product Updates

Nashville, TNSept 20, 2017 – Igloo Software, the leading provider of digital workplace solutions today has successfully wrapped up its inaugural digital workplace conference, ICE’17, held this year in Nashville, Tennessee. The event drew a highly engaged audience of corporate communications, HR, IT, internal communications, knowledge management, and digital transformation professionals and offered a compelling line up of industry experts and keynote speakers. Highlights of ICE’17 were an expanded relationship with Microsoft, new Igloo Developer Program, Digital Transformation Awards, major product updates, and the announcement of a new Digital Workplace Playbook resource site.

“ICE’17 was by all accounts, a tremendous success and I feel we’ve set a very high bar for ourselves for next year,” said Dan Latendre, Founder & CEO, Igloo Software. “Attendance and general interest in the event exceeded our initial projections, we made major product and partnership announcements, launched new programs and resources for our partners and customers, and received overwhelmingly positive feedback from all delegates.”

Igloo Product Updates:
Igloo announced major updates to its core digital workplace solutions platform, in addition to the product updates related to its expanded partnership with Microsoft. Igloo’s product updates include:

  • User Experience:  Igloo continues to deliver a digital destination that will appeal to users and drive engagement across devices and platforms. At ICE’17, Igloo introduced a suite of redesigned email notifications, allowing organizations to extend their digital identity across platforms. Igloo also announced new visual blog layouts that help customers create elegant and eye-catching displays for their content on the browser. Updates on mobile include a curated notifications feed that aggregates content and comments for greater context, a separate tab for mentions and notifications requiring action, and new text-based filtering capabilities in the feed.
  • Search: Igloo has been working on modernizing how users interact with their information in the form of discovering content. Igloo announced plans to build out a more robust search model that will provide intelligent search recommendations with support for OpenAI, custom scoring and smarter relevancy, as well as search analytics. Users will also see results returned faster. The new robust offering will provide federated search capabilities, meaning Igloo customers can perform a single search against multiple third-party repositories from within their digital workplace. Starting in Q4, 2017 with the federated search widget, Igloo will begin introducing federated search capabilities for our existing technology partners: Microsoft SharePoint, OneDrive for Business, Salesforce, Box, Dropbox, and Google Drive.
  • Analytics & Reporting:  Igloo also announced plans to modernize how users report on content. In addition to their existing web, user, and content analytics, Igloo announced the availability of new custom reporting and analytics capabilities that will allow customers to build tailored reports with their favorite business intelligence or spreadsheet tools, such as Microsoft Power BI, Excel, or Tableau.
  • Solution Extensibility: Today’s digital workplace is a rich, diverse and ever-changing environment. To remain at the heart of this ecosystem, Igloo announced the availability of its Developer Program. With the Igloo Development Framework and SDK, customers can evolve their digital destinations to adapt to the changing needs and preferences of employees and the business, and can interoperate with established systems of record, best-of-breed apps, and a whole new realm of internet-enabled things.

New Digital Workplace Playbook
Igloo also announced its plans to launch a first-of-its-kind Digital Workplace Playbook, which is expected to be available before the end of the year.

With over one billion interactions taking place each month across its base of 10,000 digital workplaces, Igloo has a wealth of information to share. This is why Igloo has developed the industry’s first and only Digital Workplace Playbook — the ultimate resource for thought-leadership, best-practices, templates, workbooks, and practical frameworks. Chapters on planning, implementation, driving adoption and how to incorporate solutions into a digital workplace will help organizations set measurable objectives, reduce time to launch, and improve time to value.

Musical Inspiration Provided by James Dean Hicks
Attendees were also treated to a special keynote closing performance by songwriter, singer, and speaker, James Dean Hicks. With over seven number one songs and over 150 of his own songs that have been recorded by award-winning artists, James provided delegates with a memorable musical performance, leaving every attendee entertained, inspired, and ready to tackle the next phase in their digital transformation journey.
