We’re looking for a Web Operations Architect to design and administer the SaaS hosting environment. You must have strong diagnostic skills of the Microsoft .NET hosting stack and modern data-center architecture. You will be a critical driver in modernizing our SaaS architecture for scalability, ensuring the team is adhering to best practices and reducing performance overhead from application, all the way down to copper wiring. You will be part of a team responsible for day-to-day operations and projects for Igloo’s 24/7 SaaS environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Accountable for meeting mutually agreed upon delivery deadlines.
  • Architect new systems for scale and performance.
  • Support and troubleshoot old and new systems.
  • Management, administration and support of:
    • 24/7 Production SaaS environments.
    • Installing, configuring and maintaining OS and software applications on servers.
  • Researching and executing tasks for other projects, as assigned.
  • After hours support.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • A sense of humor and the ability to self-manage.
  • Hacking using tools like powershell, bash, and C# to automate (ansible) and test.
  • Very technical, you need to understand and solve complex problems.
  • Take initiative, be flexible, and work independently or as a team member.
  • Produce great ideas and plans with the ability to execute.
  • Demonstrated experience with:
  • F5 devices, Cisco ASA, HP Switches.
  • VMware vSphere (4+ years’ experience, required).
  • Windows (5+ years’ experience):
    • Win 2012.
    • IIS (looking for someone who really knows IIS and can improve performance).
    • MSSQL Cluster, Availability Groups, Mirroring, Administration.
  •  Linux (2+ years’ experience): 
    • CentOS.
    • SPAM/Mail Servers.
    • Apache Lucene Solr.
    • Elastic (ELK).
    • Kafka.
    • Redis.
    • Zookeeper.
    • o IPS/IDS, WAF.
  • Security (5+ years’ experience): 
    • Detect/troubleshoot virus/malware.
    • Governance.
    • Proof of concept solutions
