We are looking for an exceptional Software Development Manager experienced in leading development efforts and the humans who complete the work. This role is a unique opportunity to drive the development organization to the next level of maturity. You will be one of three managers in the Technology organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide strong, crisp leadership to a team of software developers. You will enable your team for success!
  • Identify gaps in development/delivery processes and drive solutions to these challenges
  • Work cross-functionally with the Product Management, QA, IT and Release Management to coordinate the delivery of software features
  • Contribute to the operational success of the delivery lifecycle. Drive work, your teams’ day to day activities and throughput
  • Adhere to established processes, identify areas for improvement and collaboratively solve these process challenges with your peers
  • Deliver to the talent management needs of your people including developing training plans and providing the necessary coaching and support for people to grow and learn.
  • Develop and maintain a highly collaborative working relationship with your delivery partners and peers including two small onshore development teams
  • Ensure teams have appropriate requirements, direction, and resources to deliver effectively
  • Provide guidance & coaching to motivate, and lead direct reports to their optimal performance levels and career development
  • If/when necessary, work as a sprint teams SCRUM Master

Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • University degree or College diploma and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Ideally, 5-8 years of coding/development experience
  • 4+ years of leadership experience
  • Understand how the Internet and WWW work
  • Understand Agile and Scrum methodologies, preferably a certified SCRUM Master
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strategic and tactical thinking
