We are looking for an exceptional QA and Release Engineering Manager with a background in Quality to lead the day to day work and the humans who complete that work. This role is a unique opportunity to drive the Quality and Release Engineering organization to the next level of maturity. The primary functions of this role will be the leadership of Quality Assurance & Release Management services. Provide strong, crisp leadership to Quality, Build and Release team members. You will enable your team for success!
Create high level strategic roadmaps for overall assurance of quality and the introduction of Test Automation
Work cross-functionally with the Product Management, Development and IT to contribute to the delivery of software features
Contribute to the operational success of the delivery lifecycle. Drive work, your teams day to day activities and throughput
Adhere to established processes, identify areas for improvement and collaboratively solve these process challenges with your peers
Deliver to the talent management needs of your people including developing training plans and providing the necessary coaching and support for people to grow and learn
Develop and maintain a highly collaborative working relationship with your delivery partners and peers
Manage the release management process, readiness, schedules, and milestones to ensure the on-time and effective delivery of product
Working closely and together with the Development and IT organizations to ensure technical dependencies are identified and resolved on time;
Ensure teams have appropriate requirements, direction, and resources to deliver effectively
Provide guidance & coaching to motivate, and lead direct reports to their optimal performance levels and career development
If/when necessary, SCRUM Master.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
Minimum of 2 years in a DevOps/Tools Engineering Managerial role
4+ years ‘experience in a Lead DevOps Engineer
8 years of relevant industry experience
Deep understanding and hands on experience in release engineering, build/deployment automation, automation of environment spin up for a highly scalable, high traffic customer facing system
Demonstrated experience with Release Automation engineering, Continuous Integration, DevOps, software/systems developer, software development & release engineering manager, or related role
Experience & ability to effectively lead a team of highly technical software/systems engineering staff and earn trust of team members and stakeholders
Experience contributing on a strategic level and contribute to how processes are planned, implemented, and maintained
