Intranet Specialist

As an experienced Intranet Specialist, reporting to the Director of Project Management, you will manage the entire intranet experience at Igloo, and other projects as assigned. This includes day-to-day operations and planning enhancements and updates as required.

You will be involved at every stage from concept to delivery, including site navigation, content, design, as well as user engagement and training. You will also help to define and uphold site standards company wide.

Your daily interactions with employees will breed great insights about how a modern intranet  can solve business challenges facing any organization. As a result, Igloo will be able to better serve and nurture our customers and make improvements to our product along the way.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintenance: daily intranet maintenance, including, upholding site standards, answering questions, and posting and organizing content
  • Collaboration: partnering with key stakeholders internally and externally on strategy and execution of our intranet
  • Content: write, edit, and publish regular communications, ensure content standards are upheld, and assist with leadership communications
  • Technical: Managing the site structure and navigation, while maximizing product functionality to improve communications, collaboration, knowledge management, and workflow companywide
  • Training: Cross-functional training/guidance. Work with internal teams on administering spaces, permissions, and establishing best practices for usage
  • Continuous Improvement: Working on product feedback and solutions, participating in beta program, providing regular feedback to product team, dogfooding, etc.
  • Project Management – Managing internal projects related to the intranet – including internal product releases, space refreshes, etc.
  • Reporting: Monitor site analytics and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)

Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • 2 to 5 years of experience managing and implementing intranets or collaboration software
  • Web technology HTML, CSS, JavaScript 
  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering or related area.
  • Familiarity with agile practice and principles
  • Strong understanding of social software, online communities, and other web-based technologies
  • Project Management, proven ability to see through a project or implementation plan from initiation to close
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with cross functional teams, and ability to influence and collaborate with senior staff  
  • Outgoing, with exceptional technical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of the business vision and mission  and organizational structures, as well as corporate culture and employee communications
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and leadership skills for managing multiple priorities, projects, and resources.
  • Sound judgment, conflict management, decision-making skills, and the ability to handle sensitive  and confidential situations with diplomacy
  • Tenacity, determination, positive attitude, and assertiveness
  • Highly experienced with Microsoft Office applications, including word-processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
