Key responsibilities

  • Key member of the Human Resources team supporting generalist HR functions such as recruitment & retention, on-boarding & exit, benefits management, health & safety, performance management initiatives, training programs, administration and integrity of data, tools, systems, files, reporting, policies & procedures.
  • Work closely with the Talent Specialist to develop and manage talent sourcing, acquisition and recruitment strategies, attract, hire and on-board talent. Ensure recruitment activities are in line with the business requirements, budget and time frames.
  •  In conjunction with the Talent Specialist, coordinate all activities as they relate to recruitment and selection (job analysis, job descriptions, advertising, networking, sourcing and vetting talent, coordinating and conducting interviews, testing and assessment of candidates, verifying references, related background checks, and preparing on-boarding activities).
  • Coordinate all on-boarding and orientation activities for new employees. Prepare and deliver orientation training sessions as appropriate with related follow up.
  • Manage and administer the employee benefit plans and make recommendations as appropriate. Interact with employees regarding benefit plans and related programs, promote awareness, follow up on claims inquires and be a first point of contact for employee questions related to benefit plans and programs.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to support performance, goal setting, and training and development plans and initiatives are in line with the Companies business plan and overall goals.
  • Work closely with various teams (internally and externally) on activities and programs, related to supporting and protecting the organizations core values and culture such as social events, recruitment efforts, referral program, employer brand awareness initiatives and related activities. Represent the company at various events such as recruitment events, networking events and training initiatives.
  • Responsible for maintaining compliance with all relevant health & safety policies, procedures and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, and safe work practices.
  • Responsible for maintaining compliance with all accessibility policies and human rights legislation and initiatives.
  • Assist with data integrity, maintenance and review of various HR and administrative tools, systems, policies and procedures, files, records and reporting. Improve and implement systems and processes were appropriate.
  • Other tasks and projects as appropriate to support growth of company.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • A Bachelor’s Degree, human or social sciences degree, business management degree or related education.
  • Professional Designation (CHRP or CHRL) or actively working towards.
  • Minimum 5+ years demonstrated experience working in a generalist HR role with increasing responsibility and scope.
  • Minimum 3+ years of related experience building a talent pipeline, with a track record of success in fulfilling recruitment goals.
  • Previous experience in growing tech organization or entrepreneurial environment an asset.
  • Strategic thinker with solid problem solving and decision making methodologies.
  • Comfortable working with and influencing all levels of an organization to achieve maximum results.
  • High degree of customer focus and service, relationship building and building an environment of mutual respect and professionalism.
  • Sense of urgency, enjoy working in fast-paced growth company environment.
  • Professional individual with integrity and solid business acumen to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
