We’re kind of a big deal

For the 6th consecutive year, Igloo was positioned in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Social Software in the Workplace.

Every year, Gartner, a leading information technology research and advisory company, releases a report about workplace social software. If you're a company building such software, it's a huge honor to be included in that list. It's basically the who's who of that world. And we've been in that report for 6 years straight. That's right, Igloo, has been battling it out with corporate computing giants like Google, IBM and Microsoft, and rightfully trading blows.

We're "niche players", but we knew that already.

Of course, all the hype goes to the companies described as "leaders" on that list. Who wouldn't be happy to be called that? But honestly, it's not what we're looking for. Niche might sound like a pejorative word, meaning we're just for a few specific situations. We prefer to see it as being called specialists in a field.

We're focused on ease of use and flexibility in configuration. You no longer have to hire 5 developers just to run the software you're already paying to use. And if you have any questions about how you can make Igloo fit your company, we'll be glad to help. We ranked 2nd out of 17 vendors for customer experience, so we must be doing something right. Sure we're a small company, but we're clearly geared towards efficiency.

It's funny, one question mark that's often associated with Niche Players is that they're at risk of being displaced by the large platform players. When in practice, we see the opposite trend occurring. Organizations are looking to replace their aging portal or intranet infrastructure with simple, easy-to-use solutions.

Being social in all the right places.

It's crazy how much "social" has become ingrained in all technology platforms. Everything has to be social. Sadly, few are doing it right, and worse, some are trying to force things that aren't meant to be social.

We believe that social tools need to go hand-in-hand with content, otherwise you're just talking about work. So much time is wasted these days looking for the right people or information to do our jobs. When we weave social tools into the company-wide intranet, we think that's a huge win for your productivity.

Social is about sharing, and the dissemination of information is critical to any company. We focus on making sure that all necessary content is always available, to all your employees, across all devices. Some people say that's niche, we think it's crucial.
