Success Story: DangleTech
"IGLOO's community platform was perfect in that it offered us a comprehensive technology that we could configure to meet our needs. It's designed to scale as we scale, which is very important because the site will be expanding significantly, receiving both regional and specialized commentary from a wide range of stakeholders. We expect DangleTech to be the single source for all matters relating to building great companies and great leaders in the most dynamic of sectors." Robert Hebert |
The Community
DangleTech is Canada's largest community-sponsored website dedicated to the technology sector. The site is a forum of the entire technology community including employees working in companies of all sizes, governments, universities and the financial community. DangleTech's objectives are to raise awareness, educate, inform, provoke, and stimulate ideas and dialogue in order to help grow this vital sector.
The Challenge
DangleTech's sponsors, including the Stonewood Group, Technology Fast50 and Deloitte, recognized the need to raise the level of discussion by getting some of the technology industry's best and brightest to share their insights for the benefit of all. An online community would provide direct access to an extensive target audience and have the ability to aggregate quality content-fulfilling DangleTech's goal to create, build and scale great leaders and companies in the technology sector. One of the major challenges DangleTech faced in building their community was the complexity of creating a site that could incorporate the breadth of functionality they wanted. The participating organizations tried to create something inhouse but encountered a mess of multiple vendors and so-called experts, often with conflicting advice.
The Solution
IGLOO's powerful platform powers the DangleTech commuity, providing access to up-to-the minute news from over 500 companies across Canada. The community also provides technology start ups with a wide array of original articles, best practices, interviews, expert opinions, job listings, investor information, and more. It acts as a central place for executives to access information on investment activities across the country; recent original articles written on issues related to the technology sector and aggregates blog articles from some of the sector's leading executives. DangleTech's current challenge is to nurture the community's pulse and Rob Hebert (CEO and Founder) is convinced that this is already happening: "We have been very methodical in achieving our short term goal; to develop a content footprint before reaching out to the community. That being said, we are now starting to promote the site and the numbers have been very encouraging with traffic increasing significantly every week."
