Online Community Success Story: Ploughshares

Success Story

Ploughshares Community

Project Ploughshares, an ecumenical peace centre of The Canadian Council of Churches, collaborates with Canadian and international NGOs and churches to develop and advance policies and practices that build peace and prevent war and promote the peaceful resolution of political conflict. The cornerstone of this policy work is analysis based on carefully researched information, and engagement with NGO and government policymakers in the development of policy options. Policy work on peace and security issues is also informed and strengthened by direct involvement with partners in conflict zones.

The Challenge

Project Ploughshares works with partner NGOs in countries such as Brazil, Costa Rica, Trinidad and Tobago and Kenya. These globally dispersed partnerships can present unique challenges for effective project management and communication. In addition to geographic constraints, limited financial and human resources can make it difficult to collaborate to achieve common goals.
