Motorola Community

The Motorola online community facilitates conversation and supports the needs of Motorola's Enterprise Mobility customers. Built on the IGLOO online community platform, it is a private community with 1,100 active community members from different user groups, including the Trunked User Group, Mutual User Group and Mobile Data User Group. The community is host to online forums that encourage and foster dialogue, continuity and interest in Motorola products.

The Challenge

Motorola required a more sophisticated, flexible and secure way to interact and connect with over 100 key product user groups online. Stakeholders agreed the community should:

  • Connect customers outside of face-to-face meetings
  • Manage and coordinate over 1000 distinct users and their user group activities
  • Gather feedback on product features and set up test groups on new products
  • Connect users via product usage and product forums

The creation of the community was prompted by Motorola's desire to create and disseminate customer testimonials and stories, product specifications and ultimately, to produce product evangelists.
