Green Grass One is a retail services and buying aggregation firm for on-course golf pro shop operators across Canada. The firm connects over 320 of the top independent golf course facilities across Canada with many of the leading product suppliers in the industry. By taking advantage of the collective size and experience of the many on-course CPGA professionals operating retail shops, Green Grass One is able to negotiate volume-based pricing and share retail expertise and information amongst the members. The Green Grass One online community offers members and partners a powerful platform to interact on a daily basis, sharing real-time market information, multimedia tools and proven ideas directly from the field.

The Challenge

Due to their small size, limited buying power and lack of retail experience, Green Grass One provides on-course golf retailers with economies of scale as a consolidated buying entity. Beyond that, the organization has a broader mandate to help these independent organizations flourish through consulting services, training workshops and web-based tools.

Green Grass One faced two primary challenges in achieving this broader mandate:

  • Email and phone calls represented an inefficient and ineffective means of communicating with its retail network
  • Networking and collaboration only took place indirectly and informally during regional annual Green Grass One workshops
