Classroom Community

Dr. Alexandroff is a University of Toronto professor who teaches courses at both graduate and undergraduate levels at the Trudeau Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies and the Munk Centre for International Studies. He received his Ph.D. in Government from Cornell University and is currently the Research Director of the Program on Conflict Management and Negotiation at the Munk Centre.

The Challenge

Dr. Alexandroff wanted to extend his classroom to facilitate learning and continued discussion outside of the physical confines of a classroom. Looking to implement a secure online learning environment, the professor wanted to dynamically administer and update coursework and provide protected teaching "areas" for both undergraduate and graduate courses. For this reason, he required the ability to set access rights for different items in his classroom according to different types of users. He also wanted to be able to maintain a clean look and feel without compromising security and key functionality.
