Success Story

Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) Community

The BRICSAM community is focused on examining the potential impacts of the BRICSAM countries from a global perspective. BRICSAM countries are a group of large developing economies whose probable move to higher levels of income over the next 3-5 decades will have effects on the global economy. These countries include Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, ASEAN states and Mexico. These effects will be felt at both a regional and national level as many of these countries become regional economic hubs. The BRICSAM community is devoted to the idea of shifting economic power and the multiple ripple effects of these rapidly developing countries on both the global economy and international governance.

The Challenge

The BRICSAM community is made up of a global team of international researchers and leading industry practitioners who report on and make policy recommendations on the implications of BRICSAM.

As the BRICSAM community evolved, it needed a system in place to support a collaborative research agenda - one that would eventually lead to a series of working papers and ultimately, a major report on BRICSAM and its impact on global governance. Leading experts and partner institutions required a centralized place to collaborate on analyzing the changes brought on by BRICSAM countries.
