Mission Accomplished: Associations

What's business social software designed for? It's designed to help you tap the collective power of individuals, mobilize supporters and drive member-to-member interaction. Whether you're a not-for-profit organization or association, it's about using social technologies to push your mission forward. And using IGLOO, these organizations have discovered how to exploit the inherent value in their networks.

Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP)

The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) is the governing body of the men's professional tennis circuits - the ATP World Tour, the ATP Challenger Tour and the ATP Champions Tour. The ATP World Tour takes place across six continents, 32 countries and 62 tournaments.

With personnel scattered globally, the ATP created four integrated communities, including an officiating center and tournament center, in order to connect the various stakeholders across the globe. This moved the organization away from email as the primary collaboration vehicle and provided tour members and officials with the ability to manage tournament assignments, including tour calendars, tournament entries and logistics information related to the events, and to facilitate collaboration on rule changes and standards for umpiring.

The Academic Council on the United Nations System (ACUNS)

The Academic Council on the United Nations System (ACUNS) connects over 900 individual and institutional members who share a commitment to the values expressed in the United Nations Charter. Its purpose is to stimulate and support research and teaching on the role of the United Nations. Members are based in over fifty countries with a variety of ideas, interests and professional backgrounds.

Using an online community, ACUNS has been able to reduce duplicated efforts, improve access to critical information and strengthen a global dialogue between its members. Information about meetings and events is now readily available, conference and workshop agendas are posted and meeting reports are stored for members who are unable to attend. ACUNS also uses their community to internally promote the works of individual members and institutions and raise their profiles globally. The community features a members section, a submission for publication area and online discussions-all designed to enhance member interaction within the community.

Trudeau Foundation

The Trudeau Foundation promotes research in the field of humanities and social sciences, fostering a dialogue between the academic community and government policymakers. It is an international network working and researching on issues of human rights and social justice, responsible citizenship, Canada and the world, and humans in their natural environment.

With a large network of active scholars, the Trudeau Foundation sought to create an interactive community that encouraged communication and innovation through an online knowledge exchange. The online community includes a public-facing website as well as private areas for Foundation Member communication, collaboration, document publication and member initiated events.

Through international educational offerings and a myriad of networking opportunities, DIA provides a global forum for knowledge exchange that fosters the innovation of products, technologies, and services to improve health and well-being worldwide.
