Dan Latendre

Dan Latendre, CEO

Dan has been a senior-level technology executive for the past 18 years, working at such pioneering organizations as MKS, Delrina, Open Text Corporation and CIGI. For the past 15 years, he has taken an entrepreneurial approach in the development and marketing of leading edge internet-based technologies and applications. In 1993, Dan and his team developed one of the first wireless internet access packages called Internet Anywhere in partnership with Research in Motion (RIM).

In 1995, he joined Open Text Corporation where he held strategic roles at the executive level, from spearheading the release of the first commercial search engine for the web, the Open Text Index, to launching the first web-based intranet application, Livelink®. This award-winning application is today used by thousands of leading corporations for intranet, extranet, portal and online library solutions.

Dan is an executive member of the Canadian International Council, an organization founded to better promote public interest and debate regarding Canadian foreign policy and international relations.

Gerard van der Burg

Peter J. Smith, Executive Vice President - Field Operations

Peter will oversee IGLOO’s customer-facing functions, including all sales, professional services, maintenance services, channel management, business development and sales operations activities. A twenty-nine year veteran of the Information Technology industry, Peter has experience in middle and senior management roles in sales, professional services and operations. Previously, Peter was an Executive Vice-President at Information Resources Inc, a Group Vice-President for PeopleSoft Global Services and a Regional Sales Vice President at PeopleSoft Canada. Prior to joining PeopleSoft, Peter was with IBM Canada for 17 years in technical, sales, consulting and management positions.

During his career, Peter has had responsibilities for managing teams in Canada, the United States, Europe and India. He has the global perspective and experience required for competing in the twenty-first century. He has managed teams and business units spanning a handful of employees through to a 1400 people division and has worked with companies ranging from small start-up through to large multi-nationals.

Peter received a Bachelor of Applied Science in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 1979, a Masters of Business Administration from McMaster University in 1987 and is a Professional Engineer in Ontario. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Headcount Corporation, Grantium, Inc., and as President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Georgian Peaks Club.

 

Gerard van der Burg

David Vanheukelom, VP Product Strategy & Management

David is responsible for driving the strategic product direction and development of IGLOO Software’s corporate social networking suite.

David brings 15 years of experience in the software industry, where he held executive and management positions creating and leading corporate and product strategy, delivery, and marketing of business software solutions.

Prior to Igloo Software, David was responsible for product strategy at Cognos Inc, a leading provider of business intelligence and performance management solutions worldwide. He has also led product strategy initiatives at Infor Global Solutions, SSA Global, as well as leadership positions in product management, sales, and consulting at both PeopleSoft and Oracle.

 

Gerard van der Burg

Gerard van der Burg, Public Sector & Emerging Markets

Gerard has held management and executive positions for the past 25 years in the International Development Sector. His work with organizations such as the Dutch Development Organization, CARE International, and Global Development Group has taken him to live and work in many countries in The Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia. For the past 10 years, he provided leadership to a number of organizations for the design and implementation of complex Results-Based Management (RBM), Information Communications Technology (ICT), and Knowledge Management (KM) systems. Gerard was the recipient of a Laureate Award for Innovation in Computer Technology from the Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC, USA for a KM system he implemented. Gerard joined IGLOO in 2007.

 

David Shak

David Shak, VP Platform Development

David heads up our technical platform teams. A technology and start-up veteran, David brings over 12 years technical and management experience in the software development field. Before joining the company, he was one of the early employees at Delano Technology Corporation, a leading provider of e-business solutions, and also worked for Sxip Identity Corp. a leader in internet-scale identity and access management.

David honed his technical and management skills from some of the best in their field at companies such as Corel, creating XML authoring tools; at Netscape developing a next generation email server product; and at Symantec/Delrina engineering an electronic forms workflow engine.

 

Khalid Merhi

Khalid Merhi, VP Application Development

Having spent the better part of the last 10 years building web applications, Khalid has developed an appreciation for that “last mile” to the end user: the User Interface and the User Experience. By trade, Khalid breathes and drinks code but by passion he sketches UI concepts and contemplates what drives teams to succeed.

Khalid currently leads the application development team at IGLOO Software, focusing on user-friendly interactive application development. He also holds a piece of paper claiming he’s a computer and communication engineer.

 

Stephen Rouse

Lillian Bass, Finance & Operations

As VP Finance & Operations, Lillian is responsible for IGLOO's "back office," enabling the rest of the team to focus on customers and technology. A chartered accountant, Lillian began her career with KPMG, then drove finance at ATS Automation Tooling Systems during their peak growth and acquisition period. Most recently, Lillian was CFO for Brock Solutions, a private automation engineering firm located in Canada's Technology Triangle.

 

Pam Martin

Pam Martin, Services

As Director of Services Pam combines over eight years of project management, customer support and services to deliver first class services to IGLOO customers.  She understands that customers come first and believes in exceeding expectations.

Before joining the IGLOO team Pam worked at Open Text Corporation and Metafore.
