IGLOO Exhibits at Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco
Corporate social networking software on display at booth 345
April 22, 2008 (San Francisco, CA) – IGLOO Inc., an
emerging leader in corporate social networking, joined hundreds of
other companies at the opening of Web 2.0 Expo today. Now in its
second year, the conference runs to April 25 at San
Francisco’s Moscone Centre and is a gathering of more than
10,000 “builders of the next generation web”—
designers, developers, entrepreneurs, business strategists, and
venture capitalists.
Founded in 2003, IGLOO’s social networking platform
helps hundreds of organizations globally reduce email burden,
shrink distances across branch offices and inspire teams with new
productivity and collaboration tools. The platform was initially
developed to support an online international network of
researchers, practitioners and educators working on global issues,
but is now being offered to corporations as a SaaS-based suite.
“The adoption of corporate social networking software
is accelerating quickly in 2008,” says Dan Latendre, CEO,
IGLOO. “Larger organizations recognize the value of team
collaboration software, but have been waiting for a globally-proven
solution. Integrated suites that can be implemented rapidly with
little capital cost, are making it possible to manage thousands of
collaborative projects inside and outside the enterprise.”
IGLOO Inc. is based in the Waterloo region —
Canada’s Technology Triangle — and became a for-profit
entity in February 2008.
